The six Cottages at Dittiscombe are surrounded by private woodlands, meadows and orchards which the owners have dedicated to preserving the natural flora and flauna. You are free to explore all this at your leisure.
The whole family is welcome at Dittiscombe. The cottages are dog friendly as well as child friendly. A cot can be provided and there is a communal play area. Each cottage is then provided with a wildlife pack which encourages children to explore the wildlife and plants at Dittiscombe.
Slapton Sands Beach and Slapton Village are within walking distance of Dittiscombe and provide access to the South West Coast Path which offers some great walking.
Dittiscombe has been given a 4-star rating by Visit England and a Gold level within the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Accommodation
Honeysuckle is a cosy character single storey cottage with views over the pond and surrounding valley.
- Sitting Room - Has a slated floor, a woodburner, sofa, coffee tables and a cottage chair. There is also a digital TV, DVD player and an Ipod player with FM radio.
- Bedroom - With a king size bed
- Kitchen - Is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, microwave, electric oven and dining furniture.
- Bathroom - Has a bath with shower over, toilet and basin.
There is gas fired central heating throughout the cottage.
Outside
The garden is at the side of the cottage and has lovely views of the pond, woodland and wildflower banks. There is a level gravelled area with patio seating and an area of lawn with flower and shrub borders. The garden is fully enclosed by wooden fencing.
Nearby Points of Interest
The South West Coast Path is 3 miles from the cottage and can be accessed from Slapton Sands Beach.
The Dartmoor National Park is under an hours drive from Dittiscombe and offers lots of hiking, cycling and horse-riding activities.
The popular tourist towns of Kingsbridge, Totnes, Salcombe and Dartmouth are also all nearby and offer interesting independent shops as well as numerous activities both on and off the water.
Just outside Dartmouth is Agatha Christie’s house and garden, Greenway. It's situated on the River Dart but as parking is limited visitors are encouraged to use the ferry service which runs either from Dittisham or from Totnes using the Greenway Ferry Service. Other interesting historic houses such as Coleton Fishacre, Saltram House & Gardens and Overbecks are all within an hour’s drive.
The Woodlands Leisure Park near Dartmouth offers an exciting range of rides, and plenty of indoor play areas too.
For those of you that are interested in wildlife centres Paignton Zoo, Dartmoor Zoological Park, Living Coasts, Pennywell Farm, and the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth are all accessible from Dittiscombe.

There is indoor swimming at the Kingsbridge Quayside Leisure Centre and at the Dartmouth Golf & Country Club (we provide temporary membership for our guests with a 25% discount off health and beauty facilities).
Further activities such as canoeing, cycling, horse-riding, sailing and surfing are all possible nearby.
General Information
Dogs may not be left unattended in the cottages at any time, and we request that you bring crates for puppies.
A kitchen towel, hand towel, bath towels and toilet roll is supplied.
Our prices include VAT, heating, electricity, linen and one basket of logs.
PRICES
Dogs are charged at £20 per dog per week, £10 per dog for a short break. Short breaks are for 3 nights and are available from £230 fully inclusive between November and March.
